Mobile Auto Glass Service in San Diego
San Diego driving is hard on glass in ways that aren't obvious. The I-5 and I-805 merge, the 163 through Balboa Park, and the stop-and-go on the 8 through Mission Valley all put you close behind other vehicles, and loose gravel off those stretches is where a lot of rock chips start. Add the sand that gets carried onto streets near Pacific Beach and Mission Beach, and the grit never really goes away.
Then there's the marine layer. A cool, damp morning on the coast followed by a warm afternoon inland toward Kearny Mesa or El Cajon flexes the glass, and a chip that looked small on Monday can run into a crack by Friday. Our mobile unit comes to you — home, work, or wherever the car is parked.

Three steps, no shop visit
Tell us what broke
Send the form or call. Your VIN or plate gets us the exact glass for your vehicle, including whether it carries a camera, rain sensor or heating element.
We check your coverage first
Before anything is scheduled we confirm what your policy covers — or give you a straight cash price — so the price you hear is the price you pay. No claim is filed until you say go.
We come to you
Your driveway, your office lot, your job site — wherever the vehicle is. We fit the glass, recalibrate the camera if there is one, and tell you when it's safe to drive.
Insurance
We handle the claim with your carrier
Glass coverage sits in the comprehensive part of your policy — and we do the paperwork with your carrier.
Glass claims in California
Glass damage is covered under the comprehensive part of your policy, and your comprehensive deductible applies to a replacement.
Most carriers waive the deductible entirely for a chip repair, because a repair costs them a fraction of a replacement. If the damage is still repairable, that is usually the cheapest outcome for everyone.
We file the claim with your carrier and deal with them directly, so you are not on hold for an afternoon. Call us with your policy number and we will check your coverage with you before you commit to anything.
Paying cash
Not going through insurance? You get a straight price up front, before any work starts — no surprises when the job is done.
Most carriers waive the deductible on a chip repair even where a replacement would carry one — a repair costs them a fraction of new glass.
Damage smaller than a dollar bill, out of the driver’s line of sight and away from the edge, can usually still be repaired — which is quicker, cheaper, and keeps the original factory seal. Once it spreads, it is a replacement, so it is worth calling early.
General information only, not advice about your policy — coverage depends on the policy you hold, so check with your carrier. We are an independent auto glass company and are not affiliated with or endorsed by any insurance company. Your choice of repair shop is yours to make.

How Speedy Windshield Repair Got Started
Speedy Windshield Repair started with a simple idea: auto glass service should come to you.
For 20+ years, we've been replacing windshields, repairing rock chips, and handling auto glass for Southern California drivers — at their homes, offices, and wherever their vehicle happens to be. No waiting rooms. No drop-offs. No disruption to your day.
We built this business on referrals. One driver tells a friend. That friend tells a coworker. The work speaks for itself.

What We Stand For
Honest assessments. If a rock chip can be repaired for $50, we tell you. We don't push full replacements when a repair will do the job.
Show up when we say we will. We give you a time window and we hit it. Our mobile techs are routed efficiently so you're not sitting around waiting. If something changes, we call you before the window closes.
Do it right the first time, and treat every car like our own. Every windshield is installed to manufacturer specs, every seal is checked, and we cover your dash and seats before we start and clean up every piece of glass when we finish. That's why we can offer a lifetime warranty without hesitation.

We use OEM and OEM-equivalent glass, professional-grade adhesives, and we back every installation with a lifetime workmanship warranty. Most windshield replacements take about an hour, with a one-hour safe drive-away time.
We work with all major insurance providers and handle the claims paperwork, and ADAS calibration is performed on-site during the same appointment.

Questions
Frequently asked
How much does windshield replacement cost in Southern California?
It depends on your vehicle's year, make, and model. For most cars and SUVs, windshield replacement runs $200-$500. Luxury and newer vehicles with ADAS features can run $500-$1,200. The good news: most insurance plans cover it with $0 out of pocket. We'll check your coverage and give you an exact quote before we start.
Do you come to me or do I need to visit a shop?
We come to you — every auto glass job is mobile across Southern California. San Diego customers can also visit our 2710 Garnet Ave shop. Our technician drives to your home, office, or wherever your car is in Southern California. No drop-off required.
How long does windshield replacement take?
About an hour for most vehicles. After that, the adhesive needs roughly one more hour to cure before driving. Plan for about two hours total from start to drive-away.
Do I need ADAS calibration after windshield replacement?
If your vehicle has a front-facing camera for lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, or adaptive cruise control - yes. The camera is mounted to the windshield, so replacing the glass means recalibrating it to factory specs. We handle ADAS calibration on-site during the same appointment.
Can a cracked windshield be repaired instead of replaced?
Sometimes. Small chips (smaller than a quarter) and cracks (shorter than about 6 inches) not in the driver's direct line of sight can usually be repaired. Repair costs less, takes about 30 minutes, and preserves your original factory seal. We'll assess the damage and give you an honest recommendation.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes. Every windshield replacement and auto glass installation comes with our lifetime workmanship warranty. If there's ever a leak or installation issue, we come back and fix it at no charge.
What kind of glass do you use?
We use OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and OEM-equivalent glass. This means the glass we install meets or exceeds the same specifications as the glass your vehicle came with from the factory.
How soon can you get to me for a windshield replacement?
In most cases, same day. We carry common windshield sizes in stock and can often reach you within a couple of hours of your call. For less common vehicles or specialty glass, we may need a day to source the part. We're available Monday through Saturday — 8 AM to 6:30 PM weekdays, 8 AM to 4 PM Saturday.
Is it illegal to drive with a cracked windshield in California?
California law requires that your windshield not obstruct the driver's view. A small chip in the corner is unlikely to get you pulled over, but a crack across the driver's line of sight can result in a fix-it ticket. More importantly, a damaged windshield is weaker structurally and may not perform as designed in a collision. It's best to get it repaired or replaced quickly.
Can I wash my car after windshield replacement?
Wait at least 24 hours before washing your car, and avoid high-pressure car washes for the first 48 hours. The adhesive needs time to fully cure and bond. Hand washing away from the windshield edges is fine after 24 hours. Your technician will give you specific care instructions when the job is done.
Do you offer financing for windshield replacement?
We partner with Affirm and Klarna for flexible payment options. Klarna lets you split the cost into 4 interest-free payments. Affirm offers 3, 6, or 12 month plans. Approval takes about 60 seconds on your phone. $0 down on approved applications. Most customers check insurance first since many policies cover the full cost.
Will filing a glass claim raise my rates?
Glass damage is handled under the comprehensive part of your policy, not collision or liability, and comprehensive claims are generally treated differently from an at-fault accident. Every carrier and policy is different, though, so your carrier is the one who can confirm it for yours. Either way, nothing is filed until you tell us to.
Should I use insurance or just pay cash?
It comes down to two numbers: your comprehensive deductible and the price of the glass. If your deductible is $250 and the replacement is $550, claiming saves you $300. If your deductible is $500 and the glass is $420, paying directly is cheaper — and there is no claim on your record. We will price it both ways before you decide.
Can my windshield be repaired instead of replaced?
Often, yes. Damage smaller than a dollar bill, outside the driver’s line of sight and away from the edge of the glass can usually be repaired rather than replaced. A repair is quicker, costs less, and keeps the original factory seal. Send a photo with your quote and we will tell you straight — including when it is the smaller job.
Does my car need a camera recalibration?
If there is a camera mounted behind your windshield — lane keeping, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise — the manufacturer generally requires recalibration after the glass is replaced, so the system aims where it is supposed to. Your VIN tells us whether yours has one, and if it does we include it in the quote up front rather than after the job.
